Listen to the audio recordings

The Ferguson Interview Project is a collection of twenty interviews about the events before and after the death of Michael Brown Jr. on August 9, 2014. In remembrance of the ten year anniversary of Michael Brown Jr.'s murder Kathy Records released the fifteen hours of audio recordings. The interviewees are community leaders, activists, organizers, politicians, faith-based leaders, and law enforcement professionals. These interviews were collected over a two-week period in May of 2015.

Let's take a walk

Fresh Pond Road by Ama Birch is a nineteen part poem where the reader is taken on a walking tour of signs along a busy New York City street. Ama Birch (vocals, homemade drone zither), Caleb Flood (no input mixer), Sonya Belaya (prepared piano), and Lee Tesche (saxophone, pedal steel, modular synthesizer) join forces to set this epic list poem that shines a spotlight on gentrification, diversity, and displacement. Take a 37 minute journey through the heart of Ridgewood, New York. It is partially funded with a New York City Arts Corps Grant.

Performer

Ama Birch reads from Steve Cannon's Groove, Bang, and Jive Around at the Francis Kite Club on 7/17/2024 in NYC.
